Memphis Pair Named in Arnold Palmer Cup Rankings

Lars van Meijel and Thomas Perrot ranked 1st and 3rd among European Players
NORMAN, Okla. - Memphis golfers Lars van Meijel and Thomas Perrot have been named the No. 1 and No. 3 European golfers playing collegiately in America in the first spring Arnold Palmer Cup Rankings, announced on Thursday, March 3.
The top six golfers in the final rankings on April 15 from both the United States and Europe will be among the 10 individuals selected to compete in the Arnold Palmer Cup at Formby Golf Club on June 24-26.
van Meijel, a junior from Best, Netherlands, ranks 10th in the country in the Golfstat Cup Rankings. He is a combined strokes under par during the 2015 fall season, and finished no worse than fifth in any of the four tournaments during the fall season.Â
In the four fall events, Perrot, a senior from Paris, France, shot even par or below par, including a seven-under three-round total at the Memphis Intercollegiate. He finished sixth or better in all four events during the fall portion of the schedule. He ranks 14th overall in the NCAA from the Golfstat Cup Standings
Memphis, ranked 38th in the Golfstat team rankings, opens its season on Monday, March 7 at the Colleton River Collegiate, hosted at Colleton River Plantation Club: Pete Dye Course, in Bluffton, South Carolina.
