Memphis Oct. 22 match vs. UT Martin moved to Oct. 29.
MURRAY, Ky. – The University of Memphis rifle squad is ranked No. 11 in this week's Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) poll. The Tigers fell three spots from their No. 8 position in last week's CRCA poll.
This year's Memphis squad is following a similar pattern from a year ago. Last season, the Tigers were ranked No. 8 in the Nov. 4 CRCA poll and dropped to No. 12 the following week (Nov. 11). In the Nov. 18, 2015, poll, Memphis jumped back in the top-10 and remained there the remainder of the campaign.
Memphis last competed Oct. 9-10 when it posted Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) road wins over Navy and Army. The Tigers were scheduled to host UT Martin this Saturday, Oct. 22, but that match has been moved to Oct. 29.
TCU reclaimed the poll's No. 1 spot this week. Four-time defending NCAA champion West Virginia is No. 2, followed by No. 3 Air Force, No. 4 Alaska-Fairbanks and No. 5 Murray State.
All nine Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) programs are in the poll with West Virginia at No. 2, followed by No. 6 Kentucky, No. 8 N.C. State, No. 9 Nebraska, No. 10 Ole Miss, No. 11 Memphis, No. 13 Navy, No. 15 Army and No. 16 Akron.
