No. 10 Tigers Take Second in Tri-Match at No. 12 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 10-ranked University of Memphis rifle team finished second in a tri-match against No. 2 Kentucky and No. 12 Ohio State Saturday in Columbus, Ohio with an aggregate team score of 4712. The Tigers placed second in both smallbore (2339) and air rifle (2373).
Kentucky won the tri-match with an aggregate of 4740, while host Ohio State was third with a total of 4688.
"Today was another solid match for us and I'm happy to see the consistency between today and last weekend," head coach Morgan Wilson said. "A big highlight today was Gabby's (Ayers) personal best in smallbore. She has been working really hard and it was great to see her finally hit a big mark.
"We know there's still a lot of room for improvement and we hope to improve on today in our match against Akron tomorrow."

KEY MOMENTS
- Junior Katrina Demerle led the Tigers and finished fourth overall with an aggregate of 1180. She carded the fifth-best total overall in smallbore (586) and sixth-best in air rifle (594).
- Junior Kenlee Ewton finished fifth overall with an 1178 aggregate. After shooting 584 in smallbore, she matched the best air rifle amongst the Tigers with a 594.
- Freshman Emmet Bodrogi placed sixth overall with an 1177 aggregate behind a team-best 587 in smallbore and a 590 in air rifle.
- Senior Gabriela Zych rounded things out with an eighth-place finish (1176 aggregate). She shot 582 in smallbore before matching the Tigers' top number in air rifle with a 594.
