SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS

UCF comes into the game having won four of its last six games, with two wins each over East Carolina and USF.

In the team's last game, a 75-60 loss at Tulsa on January 24, Justin McBride scored 15 points for the Knights, who had nine different players reach the scoring column. Tacko Fall scored four points while pulling down 10 rebounds and blocking two shots.

Leading the team this season has been A.J. Davis who has started all 17 games, and averages 13.3 points per game, with Adonys Henriquez adding a 10.4 point per game average. Shaheed Davis (8.7), Fall (7.8), McBride (7.8), Daiquan Walker (7.4), and Matt Williams (7.1) each average over seven points per game.

Davis is the team leader in rebounds, averaging 5.8 per contest, with Fall just off the pace with a 5.4 rebound per game average. Walker and Davis lead the team with 66 and 57 assists, while Fall leads the team with 35 blocked shots.

BLOCKING OUT

Tuesday's game between Memphis and UCF features the American Athletic Conference's top three leaders in blocked shots per game. Shaq Goodwin leads the AAC in both total blocks (41), and blocks per game (2.3). Tacko Fall, UCF's 7-6 freshman center has 35 total blocks for an average of 2.1 per game. Memphis' freshman, Dedric Lawson is third in blocks per game (2.0) and second overall in total blocks (36).

STRONG AGAINST THE KNIGHTS

Of the five Memphis players that have played at least two games against UCF, each of the quintet averages at least 9.0 points per game against the Knights. Shaq Goodwin (57 points over six games), Markel Crawford (19 points/2 games), and Avery Woodson (19 points/2 games) each average 9.5 points per game, while Trahson Burrell (18 points/2 games) and Kedren Johnson (18 points/2 games) each average nine points against the squad from Orlando.

SNOW BIRDS (OR TIGERS REALLY)

Memphis has had a strong run of games in the Sunshine state. The last time the Tigers have lost a game played in Florida was on January 18, 2012. Since then the Tigers have played eight games in the state, including a tournament win in the Old Spice Classic in Orlando during the 2013-14 season, and an exciting overtime win over Ohio State in Miami earlier this season. Since 2001, the Tigers are 17-1 in Florida, and also worth noting, the 2016 American Athletic Conference Tournament will be played in Orlando.

MEMPHIS VS. SCHOOLS IN FLORIDA

Of the 13 NCAA Division I schools within the state of Florida, Memphis has a strong 87-34 overall record against teams from the Sunshine State, while Memphis head coach Josh Pastner is 19-2 all-time in such games.

NEAR-TRIPLE-DOUBLE

Against East Carolina, Memphis senior guard Trahson Burrell finished an assist shy of becoming the third player to record a triple-double in a Tiger uniform. Three days after meeting Oscar Robertson - the only player to average a triple-double over a single season in the NBA - following the game at Cincinnati, Burrell scored 13 points while pulling down 10 rebounds and dishing out nine assists. The last Memphis triple-double came when Antonio Anderson had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists. The other two triple-doubles in program history came from Penny Hardaway in back-to-back games on January 4 and 6 during the 1993 season.

OVERTIME ON TIME

Including last season's win at UCF, the Memphis Tigers have won their last three overtime games. The last Memphis overtime loss came on February 15, 2014 at Connecticut, before a February 22 overtime win against Temple started the new Tiger streak. Memphis played just one overtime game a season ago, a 75-65 win over Tuesday opponent UCF, while taking down the Ohio State Buckeyes in extra time earlier this season in Miami.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST UCF

Memphis and UCF have met 19 times in each program's history, with the Tigers holding a 17-1 record in those games (along with one game vacated from the 2007-08 season). Memphis has won each of the last eight meetings, with the margins in all eight of the recent Tiger wins coming by six points or more.
