Ripley HS player to become fourth member of the early signing period.
MEMPHIS – Memphis softball head coach Natalie Poole announced the addition of Sara Ann Davidson (Ripley, Tenn./Ripley HS) to her early signing class. Davidson is the fourth newcomer for the early signing class that inked in November. She joins a class that includes Adrianna Morgan (Lake Cormorant, Miss./Lake Cormorant HS), Regan Hadley (Georgetown, Ind./Floyd Central HS) and Xiomara Santiago (Cleveland, Ohio/North Royalton HS).
"Sara Ann is going to be a great utility player for us," Poole said. "She's got a lot to offer. She can hit, she can run, she can play some different positions. It's going to be great to have her on our team. She is going to be a really hard worker and really wants to play for the Tigers. She's going to be a great addition."
Davidson has lettered three seasons at Ripley High School and has helped her team to back-to-back regional championships. Her sophomore team posted a 30-11 record and her junior squad went 31-5 last season. Davidson is a three-time, all-district honoree, a two-time all-region honoree and a two-time all-tournament player. She also plays club ball with the RAGE club, coached by Keith Davidson. Her club team most recently won the 2015 NSA Mid-East Regional Championship and the TN/AL Showcase Gold Championship.
The daughter of Keith and Melissa Davidson, Sara Ann has been an SOS volunteer and is a four-time scholar-athlete with a 4.0 GPA. A member of the student council, FCA, BETA and HOSA, she will join the Memphis roster in the fall of 2016.
