Tigers Look to Start Win Streak on Tuesday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Tigers will look for its second win in as many games when its hots the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, one of 30 teams in the NCAA without a loss this season, in an 8 p.m. tip-off at FedExForum.
SCOUTING MEMPHIS
Memphis looks to win its second straight game when it hosts Louisiana Tech, as the team is fresh off of an 81-76 win in overtime over Ohio State.
In the victory over the Buckeyes, Shaq Goodwin tied a career-high with 23 points while Dedric Lawson scored 16 points with 10 rebounds for his second collegiate double-double. Ricky Tarrant Jr. hit 14-of-16 free throws in the game for the lion's share of his 16 points in the winning effort.Â
Dedric Lawson leads the way for the Tigers with a 15.0 point per game average, while Tarrant Jr. and Goodwin each average 12.2. Avery Woodson and Trahson Burrell average an even 9.0 points per game, with K.J. Lawson averaging 7.8 tallies per contest.
The Tigers out-rebound their opponents by an average of one rebound per game, and are led by Dedric Lawson, who pulls down 9.0 boards per contest while Goodwin pulls down 8.4 boards per contest, while Burrell grabs 6.4. Tarrant Jr. leads the team with 15 assists, with Dedric Lawson close behind with 14.Â

Louisiana Tech comes into the game as one of 30 teams in the country to not have picked up a loss thus far in the 2015-16 season.
In the teams' last game, a 71-50 win over North Carolina Central, LaTech had six players score at least eight points, including a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double from guard Qiydar Davis. Dayon Griffin scored 11 points off of the bench, while Jacobi Boykins scored 10. Alex Hamilton dished out a game-high seven assists while scoring nine points, and Joniah White blocked a game-high four shots.
This season the Bulldogs have five players averaging over nine points per game, led by Erik McCree's 15.2 point per game scoring average. Hamilton averages an even 15.0 per game, while Boykins and Davis average 12 and 10.8, respectively.
McCree and Hamilton lead the team in rebounding, pulling down an average of 7.4 and 7.0 rebounds, each, while Hamilton has dished out a team-best 27 assists (5.4 per game) to go with a team-high 12 steals.Â

Josh Pastner and the Memphis Tigers have faced off against 13 of the 14 current members of Conference USA, including 89 all-time meetings with season-opening opponent Southern Miss. During Pastner's six-year tenure, he has a 35-6 all-time record against teams in the league, while Memphis is 195-78 all-time against the 14 schools that currently comprise the league.Â

Memphis freshman Dedric Lawson is not only tied for the American Athletic Conference lead in rebounding and third in blocked shots, but is 67th in NCAA Division I rebounding, including ranking sixth among freshman, averaging 9.0 rebounds per game, and 40th in the country in blocked shots per game, eighth among all freshmen.Â
