MEMPHIS, Tenn.- The men's soccer team is continuing play in Oklahoma this week with an American Athletic Conference match up against Tulsa Friday night at 6 at Hurricane Stadium.
The Tigers are coming off a victory Wednesday night against Oral Roberts, when Hector Cantele scored a hat trick and propelled the blue and gray to a 3-0 win.
Memphis is now 7-4-2 overall, 1-2-1 in league play.
The Golden Hurricane is 6-5-1 overall, 2-2-0 in conference play this season. The TU roster features 11 returning letterwinners, eight of which were starters a year ago, two returning squad members and 15 newcomers. Tulsa finished last season with an 11-6-3 overall record, but fell to Charlotte in the Conference USA Championship match and narrowly missed the NCAA Championship. TU outscored its opponents 37-19, had four players named to the NSCAA All-Midwest Region team and seven players picked up conference accolades.
Memphis holds a 4-3-3 lead over Tulsa in the all-time series, dating back to 1996. This will be the 11th meeting between the two squads. The last meeting between the two teams was in 2012 when the Tigers and Golden Hurricane came to a 2-2 draw in double overtime.
