Memphis Travels to Boca Raton to Face Florida Atlantic

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's soccer team continues a short roadstand with a matchup against the current leader in the American Conference, RV Florida Atlantic, on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 6 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Memphis currently stands at the middle of the conference table with six points, while Florida Atlantic holds nine points and is tied with FIU for the lead in the American, with the Owls holding an advantage due to winning percentage.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Memphis (3-5-3, 2-2-0 American) most recently fell on Oct. 4 at Charlotte by a score of 3-1.
Miller Lashlee scored in his third-consecutive match, bringing the contest level in the early stages of the second half. The Tigers went on to concede a minute later and eventually fell after Charlotte added a second goal in the second half.
The Tigers' leading goal scorers are a pair of newcomers in freshman Miller Lashlee and transfer Saad Chaouki, with each having three goals on the season. Two Tigers are also tied for the team lead in points with eight. Eben McIntyre currently has two goals and four assists on the year, while Luciano Galizzi has one goal and six assists. His six assists currently lead all American players and is good for ninth-best in the NCAA.
Goalkeeper Filip Sabatti holds a 3-3-2 record in goal after moving back into a starting role in Memphis' last three matches, going 2-1-0 in that span. The senior from Porec, Croatia currently looks to improve on a goals-against-average of 1.75 with 27 saves in 2025.

Florida Atlantic (8-2-0, 3-0-0 American) enters the contest on a four-match winning streak, including three conference wins over Temple, FIU and Missouri State. In their most recent match, the Owls defeated FGCU, 2-1.
Mamadou Diarra, the 2025 Preseason American Conference Offensive Player of the Year, has lived up to expectations as he currently sits at third in goals (6) and second in points (15) among American Conference players. Five other Owls currently have multiple goals on the year, with a pair of Florida Atlantic players sitting at eight points in Oliver Moller-Jensen and Aboubacar Traore. Moller-Jensen and Traore are tied for second in the American with four assists each behind Memphis' Luciano Galizzi.
In net, Alfred Mikkelsen has played all but 30 minutes this season, carrying a 1.04 goals-against-average with 30 saves. The junior from Soro, Denmark is in his first season at Florida Atlantic and began his career as an Owl with three-straight clean sheets.
