No. 7 Ranked Tigers Rifle Defeats Navy Sunday

Junior Elizabeth Lee won the smallbore and placed fifth in air rifle to help Memphis to a win over Navy Sunday.
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - University of Memphis junior Elizabeth Lee shot a match-best 583 in smallbore, and senior Max Burkhardt tied a personal-best 592 in air rifle to lead the No. 7 nationally-ranked Tigers rifle squad to a 4651-4641 win over No. 16 Navy Sunday. The match was held at the Bancroft Hall Rifle Range on the U.S. Naval Academy campus.
Memphis won both disciplines in the match, taking smallbore with a score of 2307-2298 and air rifle with a score of 2344-2343.
Lee took first in the smallbore (583) just ahead of Navy's Alex Berry and Daniel Jonas, both of whom shot a 582. Burkhardt was fourth with a smallbore score of 581, followed by sophomore Amy Fister in fifth at 574.
In air rifle, the Tigers took the top-two positions with Burkhardt first (592) and freshman Haylea Broughton second (589). Lee tied for fifth with a 586.
Memphis continues its East Coast road trip Monday with a match at No. 13 Army in West Point, N.Y.
