Zych Announces 2026-27 Memphis Rifle Schedule

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis rifle head coach Gabriela Zych has announced the program's 2026-27 schedule ahead of her first season leading the program.
After finishing the 2025-26 regular season as the No. 11 team in the country, Zych has the Tigers set to face top competition during both the fall and spring legs of the season. Memphis' schedule features five contests at home and seven on the road. All home regular season matches are held in the R.F. Fogelman Family Rifle Range.
Memphis opens the season with a tri-meet on Oct. 11 against Ole Miss and Nebraska in Oxford, Mississippi, both top five programs from a season ago, Following that meet, Memphis hosts Nebraska the next day on Oct. 11. The Tigers then travel for back-to-back dates on Oct. 24 at national champion West Virginia and Oct. 25 for a tri-meet with Navy and Mount Aloysius College.
The Tigers will host all three of their matches during the month of November to close out the fall season, with contests against Morehead State (Nov. 7), Akron (Nov. 14) and UT Martin (Nov. 15).
The spring-semester slate opens with another home match against Kentucky (Jan. 16), last season's No. 1 team at the conclusion of the regular season. Following that match, the Tigers have a pair of contests at Murray State in the Withrow Open (Jan. 24) and a standalone match against Murray State (Jan. 30). Program's competing in this season's Withrow Open are Memphis, Murray State, Kentucky, UAB, UT Martin, Army, Akron and Jacksonville State.
February will conclude the regular season with a pair of matches against Army (Feb. 13) and Norwich (Feb. 14), both hosted in West Point, New York.
Memphis' NCAA Qualifier against Ole Miss is set for Feb. 20, hosted in the R.F. Fogelman Family Rifle Range, with Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) Championships slated for Feb. 27-28 in Morgantown, West Virginia, with the Mountaineers serving as hosts. The 2026-27 NCAA Rifle Championships will be held from March 12-13 in Statesboro, Georgia on the campus of Georgia Southern.
Times for all contests during the regular season and postseason will be announced closer to the event's start date.
