JONESBORO, Ark. - - The University of Memphis women's tennis team (7-10) got wins from hometown products Ashley Murdock and Lindsey Wiseman, but that was not enough in a 5-2 Lady Tiger loss at Arkansas State, Tuesday.
Murdock (Memphis, Tenn./St. Agnes) won her No. 1 singles match, 7-5, 6-2, while Wiseman (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest) won her match at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-2. But after falling behind 0-1 early as ASU won all three doubles matches, the two singles wins were not enough to power Memphis to the win.
Memphis will host three Conference USA matches this weekend, beginning with a Friday match against UTEP. With rain forecasted for Friday, that match may be moved indoors. Check www.gotigersgo.com for more information.
