MEMPHIS - The Memphis women's soccer team increased its total number of signees for 2007 to nine Friday with the addition of Brittany Hance, Amanda Olszewski and Stacey Radcliffe.
Hance is a four-year varsity soccer player from Fort Zumuwalt West High School in O'Falon, Mo. and was a member of the Missouri Olympic Developmental Team. Hance had 12 goals and 14 assists in 2006 as she helped her team to a state runner-up finish. Through three seasons with Fort Zumwalt, she has recorded 30 goals and 40 assists and is going into her third season as the team's captain.
"Brittany is the complete package," said Memphis Head Coach Brooks Monaghan. "She is a natural leader and possesses all of the qualities that we look for in a player. She is a player that we feel can come in and contribute immediately in the midfield or center back position."
Olszewski was a center midfielder for Pickerington North High School and helped lead the squad to three OCC Championships along with three district titles. During her career, Pickerington has posted a 67-17-1 record. Olszewski was also a member of two state runner-up club teams.
"Amanda is an all-around good player," Monaghan said. "Not only is she extremely aggressive, she is also technically sound. She is an absolute workhorse that never slows down."
Radcliffe was a member of two state finalist club teams in Ohio. She managed nine goals and six assists for William Henry Harrison in her high school career despite playing primarily on defense. Radcliffe was named first team All-League FAVC in 2005 and 2006, and she also played softball for three years where she was named All-League and All-City in 2006.
"Stacey is another player that brings a lot of athleticism to our program," said Monaghan. "Although we feel she will add depth to our back line, we are also excited about her potential to play up top."
