ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Memphis men's tennis team (3-4, 1-1 C-USA) evened their league record with a 4-3 thriller over East Carolina, Friday. Memphis won two of the three doubles matches and then used wins at No. 2, 3 and 4 singles to pick up their third overall win of the season and their first in league play.
Junior Amrit Narasimhan won the opening set 6-0 at No. 2 singles, then fell in a second set tiebreak to force a deciding third set. Narasimhan won 6t-3 to power Memphis to the win.
Memphis will remain on the road, facing No. 4 Ole Miss in Oxford, Wednesday. Memphis is 0-4 so far this season against ranked opponents.
