Stanford, Calif. - Daniele Riendeau posted another solid effort in the 1500m Sunday night at the Cardinal Invitational in Stanford, Calif., but the sophomore again fell just short of her goal of reaching a NCAA Regional qualifying time.
Riendeau had traveled to Stanford in hopes that a fast race at the Cardinal Invitational, one of the top distance meets in the country, would lead her to a Regional mark.
It was not to be however, as the Ottawa, Ontario native posted a time of 4:34.21, just off her personal best of 4:32.56, and missed the Regional standard by just over six seconds. The mark was left Riendeau with a fifth-place finish in her section.
Riendeau was the only U of M athlete to travel to Stanford, as the rest of the Memphis squads competed earlier in the weekend at the Penn Relays and the Indian Classic.
The teams will now have a weekend off before traveling to Houston, Texas, for the Conference USA Outdoor Championships on May 12-14.
