BLOOMINGTON, IND.- Heading into this weekend Memphis freshmen athletes Istvan Kerekjarto and Willie Green wanted to prove a point. Their point was well taken as Kerekjarto won the 800m and Green placed second in the 60m dash.
In his first 800m competition as a Memphis Tiger, Kerekjarto, a native of Hungary, established himself on the track scene with his 800m time of 1:55.07 which topped all competitors.
Green, who was competing in just his third meet as a Tiger, turned heads with his blazing sprint of 6.78.
Adam Didyk, C-USA's top runner in the 3000m finished 6th in the event with a time 8:34.47.
Overall, 22 Tigers competed in the track meet and Memphis tallied eight top 10 finishers.
