T&F Meet Eight: Bulldog Relays

STARKVILLE, Miss.– Memphis track and field heads down to Starkville, Mississippi, for the Bulldog Relays that start on Thursday, March 26 and conclude on Saturday, March 28.
Mississippi State will host this three-day meet at the Mike Sanders Track Complex. Live results as well as a schedule can be found above. The hammer throw will kick off the meet on Thursday at noon. The women's discus will open the field events at 11 a.m. on Friday while the 4x800-meter relay starts the track events at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the women's javelin throw opens the field events at 11 a.m. and the women's 4x100-meter relay starts the track events at 1 p.m.
The Tigers put up a dominant performance last weekend at the Rhodes Invitational, capturing 20 victorious, 31 top-five finishes and 33 personal-bests.
Ann-Marie Braese was named the American Conference Track Athlete of the Week after setting two career-bests in the 10,000-meter and one-mile races. Braese won the 10,000-meter race with a time of 37:30.04, putting her first in the conference and No.13 in the nation. The senior finished the meet with a second-place finished in the one mile with a time of 5:08.98, making her the 16th- fastest time in the American.
Memphis also saw relay success last weekend as the men's and women's 4x400 and 4x100-meter teams swept their respective races. The women's 4x400-meter "B" team of Kaseiana Meriweather, Rickaiya Whitman, Jaida Williams-Goins and Dejona Simpson secured a top-five finish with a time of 3:56.43. The men's squad also found success in the 4x400-meter relay, crossing the line in 3:14.56 behind the efforts of Kouto Anyika, Jacari Simpson, Bryson Wilson, Courtland Noble and Tyler Bickerman.
In the field events, Meghan Porterfield won the discus throw at 49.11 meters and hammer throw at 53.57 meters to set new personal-bests. Jazmyn James was victorious at the shot put, throwing 15.24 meters.
