Men's Tennis Defeats Fourth Straight Ranked Team

Charlotte, N.C. - The men's tennis team defeated Charlotte on Thursday, 5-2, to remain undefeated in Conference USA play. The Tigers have now five straight matches to improve to 9-4 on the season, 4-0 in C-USA action. Charlotte is ranked 75th in this week's Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings. Memphis, ranked 59th, has now defeated ranked teams in its last four matches.
The Tigers won at 2 and 3 doubles to capture the doubles point, then won in singles at numbers 3,4,5 and 6. Memphis concludes this six match road trip with a visit to Davidson on Friday.
"We're tired and we're hurt right now," said head coach Phil Chamberlain, "but we're battling and playing very good tennis."
