Q: What true freshman has made the biggest impact this year? My pick would be
Darron White, who has been one of the most reliable receivers on the team.
Jeffery Ireland
Atoka TN
Coach West
"I would certainly agree that Darron White has made the biggest impact so
far, he has played extremely well. I think we will get better every week as it
goes along."
Q: What is your philosophy on the day of the game and the night before a game
in getting the team ready to play mentally. Are there any special things
you do in that regard?
Paul Cicala
Memphis TN
Coach West
"I don't believe there is any magical talk or things that you can do. I
like standard operating procedure, for the most part, but we have a meeting
every Friday night at 9:30. We change things up, we may show highlight
tape, or may show cuts. We use that meeting as a lot of different things.
Any kind of edge we think we can get, in any way, with our team to have them
mentally at the highest level we can get them we can use."
Q: What different non-conference teams would you like us to schedule to enhance
our recruiting efforts?
Terry Dahlman
Memphis TN
Coach West
"We recruit in Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, primarily
here in the south east. We are playing a lot of these right now, or any
other teams in those areas. Winning games helps us recruit, specially when
you come from a program that has not had a great history of winning. I
think more so than who we play, the more we win will help our recruiting
efforts."
Q: If we see some kid playing High School Football this season that could be a
prospect to take a look at, how do we make contact to let you and your staff
know about such players?
Tom Breeden
Jackson TN
Coach West
" Call the football offices at 901-678-4140 and leave a message with any
secretary, or Russ Huesman is our recruiting coordinator, ask for his voice
mail and leave a message."
