Emilio Medrano joined the Memphis Athletic Performance staff in July 2025. In his role, he prepares and implements strength & conditioning sessions for the women's soccer, women's golf and men's and women's tennis programs.
Most recently, Medrano served served as a strength & conditioning coach at Florida State from 2022-25, working primarily with men's tennis and assisting with women's soccer and indoor and beach volleyball. He also spent time as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Kentucky and the University of Florida.
Medrano is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and holds a Level 1 Coach Certification through USA Weightlifting.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida and a master's in sports science from Florida State University.
Medrano, a native of El Salvador, has also lived in Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Canada and can speak English, Spanish and conversational French.
