Aleyla Wooten joined the Memphis softball staff in January 2026 after spending five months at Memphis as an athletics administrative assistant. In her new role with the softball program, she will oversee day-to-day operations and manage travel, scheduling and game-day logistics.

A native of nearby Lakeland, Tennessee, Wooten was a successful collegiate tennis player at both Prairie View A&M and Eastern Illinois. As a member of the Panthers, Wooten was an everyday starter on court one in both singles and doubles during her junior season as she earned All-Ohio Valley Conference Doubles Team honors after being named to the All-Ohio Valley Conference Second Team in her sophomore season in 2024.

She was also a member of the Intercollegiate Athletic Board, SAAC Committee, Commissioner’s Honor Roll and was named to the Academic All-District and ITA All-Academic Teams. Additionally, Wooten worked as an academic and development intern at Eastern Illinois and also served as an administrative intern at Boston College.
