John Grundy joined the Memphis Athletic Department in Aug. 2021 after previously working as the head strength and conditioning coach at Marymount University in Arlington, Va.,
At Marymount, Grundy oversaw all strength and conditioning programming and nutrition education. He was also the chair of the school's return to sport committee. Prior to Marymount, Grundy was a graduate assistant at George Washington and held positions at American University, Newman University and Liberty along with spending seven years in the private sector.
Grundy's certifications include NSCA (CSCS), precision nutrition (PN1) and USAW Level 1. Grundy earned his undergrad degree in Exercise Studies from Randolph College in 2014 and a master's in Exercise Science for Strength and Conditioning from George Washington in 2021.
Grundy and his wife, Casey, are the proud parents to daughters Isabell and Aubrey.
