Ben Waits began his new role as Coordinator of Turf Management in January 2013. He comes to the University of Memphis after working for Squire Creek Country Club in Louisiana where he served as the Assistant Superintendent. In that role, he supervised 30 employees and was responsible for all facets of managing the greens, bunkers, course and home landscaping, irrigation, seeding, pesticides, etc. Waits has experience working at several other golf courses and stadiums.

Waits has a degree in Sports Turf Management from Mississippi State University and is originally from Millington, Tenn.
