Road Trip Rolls On as Tigers Visit Utah State
Feb 13, 2026 | Men's Basketball
LOGAN, Utah - Memphis steps outside the American Conference grind for a quick, high-altitude challenge Saturday night, making its first trip to Logan, Utah, to face Utah State at 7 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network.
Â
The stop in the Mountain West comes on short rest for the Tigers, who will be playing less than 48 hours after their road game at North Texas. It's the front end of a home-and-home agreement with the Aggies, who are scheduled to return the trip to FedExForum next season.
Â
Utah State (21-3) enters the matchup as one of the hottest teams in the country, piling up wins behind a balanced attack and one of the nation's most efficient offenses. The Aggies thrive inside the arc, converting at a high rate and spreading the scoring load across multiple options. Guards MJ Collins Jr. and Mason Falslev lead the way, giving Utah State a steady one-two punch in the backcourt.
Â
Memphis (12-12) will counter with a defense that has shown flashes of disruption throughout the season, especially when it turns stops into transition chances. The Tigers' success has often hinged on ball security and avoiding foul trouble, two areas that proved costly in Thursday's loss and will again be under the spotlight against an Aggies team that pressures opponents into mistakes.
Â
Dug McDaniel continues to pace Memphis in scoring, assists and steals, while Sincere Parker and Aaron Bradshaw have provided scoring surges during the Tigers' recent stretch of wins. Memphis will need production across the lineup as it faces a Utah State team that protects home court and rarely gives away easy possessions. The Aggies have won six games in a row and haven't suffered a defeat since Jan. 20 to UNLV, their only loss at home this season (10-1).
Â
Saturday's meeting marks the first time the two programs have faced each other, adding a new chapter to a late-season schedule that gives the Tigers one more nonconference measuring stick before the final push through league play.
