TULSA, Okla. – Memphis women's basketball battled for 50 minutes on Saturday afternoon, taking Tulsa into two overtime periods on the road before falling, 74-69.

The Tiger offense sputtered in the second quarter as the hosts gained control, using a 9-0 close to win the frame, 17-8, as Memphis shot just 22% in the frame. The lead ballooned up to 39-30 midway through the third quarter before the Tigers' best extended stretch of basketball on the day.
For a 10-minute stretch spanning half of the third quarter and half of the fourth, Memphis went on a 22-5 run to lead 52-44, fueled by 12 combined points from forwards Tamya Smith and Williams. Tulsa responded with a 9-1 run to pull within one, but the Tiger defense forced a travel to take possession with 15 seconds remaining.
Smith was immediately fouled and split a pair of free throws, and Jade Clack would level the score with five seconds remaining at the charity stripe. After a deadball rebound gave the Tigers possession with two-tenths of a second remaining, Allen broke free and laid the ball in, but it was determined that her attempt came just late of the clock's expiration.
With Smith and Richmond fouled out for the overtime period, the hosts appeared to grab control back, leading 63-56 before Harris erupted for seven unanswered points to tie the game. Tulsa had the ball with a chance at the game-winner, but the Tiger defense again delivered to force a second overtime period.
The Golden Hurricane regained the lead 20 seconds in and never relinquished it; Kennedi Alexander hit a mid-range jumper to make it 72-69 with just over a minute to play, but Memphis would never score again as they dropped the tightly contested battle.
