IRVING, Texas – Zaniah Hoskins was named the American Conference Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Hoskins powered the Tigers' offense with 49 kills and 55.5 points over the week, helping Memphis to a 2-1 record, including a 1-1 start in conference play.
The Austin, Texas, native had a standout performance against Mississippi Valley State, posting a career-high 22 kills and 22 points while hitting .500 in Tuesday night's sweep.
She followed that up in the Tigers' conference opener at Tulane, recording 18 kills, 13 digs and 21 points — her sixth double-digit kill match of the season.
This marks Hoskins' second Freshman of the Week honor this year. She is also the second Tiger to earn the award in 2025, joining teammate Maddy Bach, who was recognized on Sept. 1 and Sept. 15.
