TULSA, Okla. – The University of Memphis volleyball team (5-8, 0-2 American) fell to Tulsa (10-3, 2-0 American) in four sets inside the Reynolds Center on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Memphis and Tulsa battled point-for-point early in the opening set before the Golden Hurricane sparked a 3-0 run to gain control. Ava Steffe's kill extended Tulsa's lead to 14-10 capping a 4-0 spurt. Kaylee Parker, Arianna Mongare and Amanda Hardt recorded late kills for the Tigers, but back-to-back runs from Tulsa secured the 25-18 set victory.

The second set began similarly, with both squads trading points until a Jill Hanson kill gave Tulsa momentum. Dawn Moore responded with a kill to trigger a 3-0 spurt for Memphis, tying the set at 11. A Tiger service error sparked another 3-0 run for Tulsa, but Mongare answered with a kill to initiate a 3-0 response for Memphis, cutting the deficit to one. Caitlyn Little extended the Memphis lead to 23-21 late in the set. After fighting past the 25-point mark, late kills from Hardt and Génesis Rodríguez pushed the Tigers to a 28-26 set victory.

Memphis carried that momentum into the third set, taking a 7-4 lead while capitalizing on four Tulsa attack errors. However, the Golden Hurricane responded with an 8-0 run to pull ahead 12-7. The Tigers cut the deficit to one, but Tulsa regained control with a 5-0 run for an 18-12 advantage before pulling away with consecutive 3-0 runs to close out the set, 25-17.

In the fourth set, the teams traded points early before a 3-0 run gave Tulsa the upper hand. A kill from Steffe ignited a 6-0 surge that stretched Tulsa's lead to 15-8. Lily Hamilton sparked a 5-0 Tigers run to cut the deficit to three, but Tulsa answered with a 4-0 run to seal the set and the match at 25-16.

Caitlyn Little led the Tigers offensive with 13 kills and 13 points.
Amanda Hardt would follow at 11 kills and 13 points.
Sydney Marshall dished out 41 assists during the contest.
- Marshall has recorded back-to-back 41 assists performance.

Abigail Schlueter led the team in digs at 17.
- Schlueter has tied her season-high of service aces at three.
