Tigers Drop Saturday Series Finale at South Florida

TAMPA, Fla. – Memphis (16-30, 4-17 AAC) softball was held to one hit by South Florida (36-12-1, 15-5-1 AAC) in an 8-0 mercy rule loss on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Following a scoreless top half of the inning, South Florida put four runs on the board in their fiest at-bats of the game.
- With runners at second and third, Josie Foreman hit a sacrifice fly for the first run of the game.
- A delayed double steal allowed Alexa Galligani to score.
- Camille Ortiz-Martinez hit a two-run home run to give the Bulls their third and fourth runs of the frame.
- A single the following inning by Alexa Galligani scored Olivia Elliott for USF's fifth run of the contest.
- Elliott had previously reached on a fielding error that would have ended the inning.
- Josie Foreman recorded her second RBI of the game on a double down the right field line in the bottom of the fourth inning.
- Karhys Pierce entered as a pinch hitter and recorded a sacrifice fly to bring home a seventh run for the Bulls.
- The game was forced into mercy rule on an RBI double by Alexa Galligani.
- It was Galligani's third hit and second RBI of the game.
- It was Galligani's third hit and second RBI of the game.
- Memphis has now been swept in its third-straight conference series.
- This contest was the second in which the Tigers only recorded one hit, with the first instance being an 8-0 loss to Southeast Missouri State.
- Additionally, Memphis' two baserunners today were the least in a game this season.
- Lyrical Bennett moves to 5-10 in the circle after throwing two innings in the loss.
- She was relieved by Rylee Dugar, who threw the final 2.1 innings.
- Bennett also eclipsed 100 innings pitched in her collegiate career, finishing the series with 100.2 innings.
- Memphis' lone hit came off the bat of Mia Brown, who went 1-for-2 at the plate.
- The only other baserunner for the Tigers was Zoe Adebayo, as she drew a walk in her second plate appearance
