Four Runners Record Top-Two Finishes at Crimson Tide Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Memphis track and field came away with six top-three finishes over the weekend at the Crimson Tide Invitational, with four runners earning second-place results.
On the distance side, Vincent Chenier ran a 3:43.88 in the 1500 meters, one tenth of a second slower than last week's PR at the Joe Walker Invite, again finishing second. The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Gizel Clayton, Destiny Jenkins, Kameron Scille and Kaseiana Meriweather also finished second in 45.00 seconds.
Clayton also picked up a second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, and Ivory Davis finished right behind her in third. Dejona Simpson logged a PR in the women's 400 meters, and Kouto Anyika also had a career-best in the men's 400 meters, placing third.
The Tigers recorded 11 personal bests on the weekend, fighting weather and delays. A full list of results can be found at the link above. Memphis will be at the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville, Florida, on April 18 and 19.
