Tigers Take Down Northwestern in Late Night Victory

EVANSTON, Ill. – In the first match of a weekend road series, the University of Memphis men's tennis team won in a nail-biting thriller over Northwestern University Friday night.
The Tigers took the doubles point after Pablo Alemany and Michael Kouame fought to a 6-3 decision while Conor Gannon and Sam Reeve picked up a 6-4 win over Greyson Casey and Felix Nordby.
In singles competition, Luis Sandoval Carvalho cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win while Alemany took down his opponent for a 3-0 lead in the match. Northwestern went on to win three consecutive games to tie the match at three before Gannon edged out his opponent for the 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 win.
