Tigers Dominate Belmont 7-0 on Senior Day

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team closed out the home portion of their schedule in dominant fashion Sunday, sweeping Belmont 7-0 at the Leftwich Tennis Center on Senior Day.

Memphis controlled the match from the start, securing the doubles point and carrying that momentum into a clean sweep in singles play.

The Tigers jumped out early by taking the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Moritz Kudernatsch/Keoni Puig McCallan earned a convincing 6-2 victory on court one, while Obrad Markovski/Marko Milosavljevic followed with a 6-4 win on court three to clinch the point.

In singles, Memphis delivered a complete performance, winning all six matches to secure the shutout.

Kudernatsch set the tone on court one with a 6-2, 6-1 victory, while senior Obrad Markovski followed on court two with a 6-2, 6-4 win. Sam Reeve battled through a three-set match on court three, dropping the opening set before rallying for a 4-6, 7-6, 10-1 win after playing a ten-point tiebreaker to determine the third set.

Lasse Rensing added a 6-3, 6-1 victory on court four, and Milosavljevic dominated on court five with a 6-1, 6-1 result. Puig McCallan capped the sweep with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court six.

With the win, Memphis improves to 11-10 overall and finishes the regular-season home slate on a high note. The team's next match will take them to Houston, Texas to take on conference opponent Rice. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 5.
