Riser Announces 2026 Slate for Memphis Baseball
Dec 15, 2025 | Baseball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis head baseball coach Matt Riser has officially announced the Tigers' 2026 slate Monday morning, with 31 opportunities to see the Tigers at home.
"I am fired up about our highly competitive 2026 schedule," said Riser. "It features strong opponents, with more than two-thirds of our nonconference games against teams that have won or played for conference titles, appeared in NCAA Regional Finals or reached the College World Series. Our tournament will feature two consistent regional opponents in Louisiana Tech and Ohio State. This schedule offers our Memphis fans many opportunities to watch us compete, with 31 home games including matchups against East Carolina and UTSA, both programs that reached Regional Finals and Super Regionals last season. It is one of the best schedules that I can imagine, challenging our team and pushing us toward an American Conference Championship."
The 2026 slate features a total of 55 games, with 31 being held at FedEx Park Avron Fogelman Field. Memphis plays a total of 12 games against six teams that reached an NCAA Regional last season, along with four games against NCAA Super Regional teams from 2025.
The season opens in mid-February with a three-game series against Toledo (Feb. 13-15) before a midweek game against Little Rock on Feb. 17. The Tigers then host a three-team weekend with one game against Louisiana Tech (Feb. 20) and two games against Ohio State (Feb. 20, Feb. 22). The Bulldogs and Buckeyes will also play each other twice during the weekend. February closes with a return trip to Little Rock to face the Trojans on Feb. 24 before hosting Jacksonville State (Feb. 27-March 1) to close out the month.
March begins with a trip to Oxford with a matchup against Ole Miss on March 3, followed by a weekend series in the Ozarks against Missouri State (March 6-8). Memphis then returns home for a five-game homestand against Lipscomb (March 10), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (March 11) and Eastern Illinois (March 13-15) before American Conference play begins.
The conference slate starts on the road against the Tulane Green Wave (March 20-22) before the second half of a home-and-home series against Ole Miss takes place on March 24. The matchup against the Rebels is the beginning of a five-game home stretch to end the month of March, as Memphis hosts Wichita State (March 27-29) for its first home conference series before a contest against Arkansas State on March 31.
April begins with a road series in Tampa against South Florida (April 2-4) before making a small trip over to Jonesboro to face Arkansas State on April 7. The Tigers then host Florida Atlantic (April 10-12) and Mississippi Valley State (April 14). The Tigers begin an eight-game road stretch with a trip to the Lone Star State to for a series at Rice (April 17-19) before facing another Southeastern Conference opponent in Mississippi State on April 21. The roadstand continues at UAB (April 2-4) before closing with a nonconference game against 2025 NCAA College World Series participant, Murray State, on April 28.
The first weekend of May sees the Tigers play against reigning American Conference Tournament champions, East Carolina (May 1-3) as the beginning of a seven-game homestand at FedEx Park Avron Fogelman Field. Memphis welcomes Central Arkansas on May 5 before hosting UTSA, the reigning American Conference regular season champions, from May 8-10. The Tigers close out the regular season on the road, facing off against Middle Tennessee (May 12) before traveling to Charlotte from May 14-16.
The 2026 American Conference Tournament is set for May 19-24 in Clearwater, Florida at BayCare Ballpark.
