Kudla Named to Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List
Oct 07, 2025 | Women's Soccer
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Memphis goalkeeper Abby Kudla was one of 35 NCAA Women's Division I college soccer players named to the 2025 Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List, the United Soccer Coaches announced Tuesday.
Kudla, a sophomore from Strongsville, Ohio, was one of four goalkeepers named to the list. It is the first time a midseason watch list has been produced for the award, which goes to the best women's soccer college player in the country.
Behind a ferocious Tiger defense, Memphis' goals-against average with Kudla in net is 0.40, the 11th-best figure among individual goalkeepers. Her 84.0% save percentage would be the second-best in program history (Elise Kuhar-Pitters, 85.7%, 2011). She also ranks 24th with six shutouts; she has contributed to nine shutouts with fellow goalkeeper Ava Galani.
The entire list of watch list honorees, as well as more information about United Soccer Coaches and the Hermann Trophy, can be found at THIS LINK. A total of 15 players will be named 2025 Hermann Trophy semifinalists on December 2 at the conclusion of NCAA Division I All-American voting. The 2025 winner will be announced January 9, 2026, in a ceremony at Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis, Missouri.
