MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team went down to the final match to get a decision with Ole Miss Friday night. The Rebels came out on top, handing the Tigers their first loss of the season with a 4-3 final.

The Tigers took an early lead after the duos of Michael Kouame/Pablo Alemany and Luis Sandoval Carvalho/Mortiz Kudernatsch took down their opponents 6-4, 7-5, respectively. In the singles competition, Conor Gannon took the win in No. 1 spot (7-5, 6-3) while Kudernatsch fought back and took the tiebreaker 6-3.

Ole Miss would take the victories at the No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 spots for its fourth team win this season.

Memphis is back at Leftwich Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. to host Clemson.
