Tigers Battle in 4-2 Loss to No. 29 Princeton in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team suffered a 4-2 defeat to No. 29 Princeton on Thursday afternoon at Hogan Tennis Center.
Memphis claimed the early advantage by sweeping the doubles matches to take the doubles point. Marcos Castro Fabra/Sam Reeve secured a 6-1 victory on court two over Fnu Nidunjianzan/Meecah Bigun before Obrad Markovski/Marko Milosavljevic followed with a 6-3 win against the No. 87 ranked duo of Sebastian Sec/Aleksandar Mitric on court three to clinch the point for Memphis.
In singles play, Moritz Kudernatsch delivered Memphis' lone completed victory, defeating Fnu Nidunjianzan in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, on court two to take an early 2-0 lead for Memphis.
Princeton responded with wins across several courts to secure the team victory. Aleksandar Mitric earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Luis Carvalho on court six, while Sebastian Sec defeated Marcos Castro Fabra 7-5, 6-2 on court four to tie the score at two. Two additional singles matches went the distance. Landon Ardila rallied past Obrad Markovski 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 on court three, and No. 5 Paul Inchauspe defeated Maxime Dubouch 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 on court one to seal the 4-2 result for the Princeton.
Memphis falls to 7-7 and will head to Indian Wells, Calif. for the first round of the UTR College Championships against No. 8 Baylor. First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 14.
