Varsity Spirit Named Official Sponsor of 901 Football Game

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis Athletics has announced that Varsity Spirit, the global leader in cheerleading, dance team, band apparel, camps, competitions and yearbooks, will be the official sponsor of football's home-opening 901 Game against North Alabama.
Students enrolled in Memphis/Shelby County Schools will have the opportunity to come celebrate the City of Memphis and the Tigers as a new school year kicks off.
"We are thrilled to partner with the University of Memphis to help bring students and families from across Shelby County Schools together for the opening game of the football season to celebrate community and spirit in the 901," President of Varsity Spirit Bill Seely said. "This event will provide an opportunity for our community to build stronger bonds, raise our collective spirit, and showcase the incredible talent and enthusiasm that our community holds."
Along with cheering on the Tigers, students will have the opportunity to take part in a pep rally on Tiger Lane and tailgate with their families. Other community stakeholders that have helped launch and support this cause program include leaders from City and County Council including Councilman Spinosa Canale, Carlisle, Warren and supporting corporate partnerships with Sylvamo.
"It's truly exciting to announce that we are working alongside fantastic community partners spearheaded by Varsity Spirit. Together, we are creating a positive platform to inspire our city's schools, community organizations, youth teams, and leaders. This event will bring the youth of Memphis together to celebrate our city and the Tigers, setting the stage for a fantastic school year and positive momentum moving forward. A big thank you to Varsity Spirit for their support as the presenting sponsor of the 901 Game.," Tiger Sports Properties General Manager Todd Kucinski said.
