DALLAS – No. 47 Memphis women's tennis concluded its regular season with a close 4-3 loss on the road against No. 45 SMU Monday afternoon at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex in Dallas, Texas.

The loss halts a six-match win streak for the Tigers, who will enter postseason play at 15-7 overall. The Mustangs improved to 10-11.

Memphis got off to a fast start in doubles. Alice Amendola and Miriam Grosmann made quick work of the Mustangs with a 6-2 win at the No. 3 spot, while Camila Soares and Monique Woog followed with the 6-3 clincher on court one to put the Tigers in front, 1-0.

All six singles matches were sweeps, with the Mustangs taking four of them. SMU leveled the score from court two with a 6-1, 6-1 victory before Alice Amendola put Memphis back in front from the fifth spot, winning 6-2, 6-3.

The match continued back-and-forth with the Mustangs winning on court one, followed by a 6-3, 6-3 sweep from Micah Pierce at the sixth spot to give the Tigers a 3-2 advantage.

SMU, once again, responded with a 6-3, 6-4 win on court four to put all eyes on court three where Woog was in a battle. The Mustangs would prevail 6-4, 7-6(1) to earn the victory.
