Tigers Fall 4-0 to No. 37 Mississippi State

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's tennis team fell to No. 37 Mississippi State 4-0 on Monday afternoon in Starkville, Mississippi.
Tiger duo Sofiia Mykhailets/Emma Dvorackova battled in their doubles match that was cut short at two all as the Bulldogs claimed victories on courts two and three. Alicia Mall/Clemence Thouard were the first pair to finish their match, falling 6-0 on court three. Rebecca Frant/Natalia Koppova fell 6-2 on court two as Mississippi State took the doubles point.
The Bulldogs kept the pressure on in singles, winning first sets on four different courts. Freshman Alicia Mall fell 6-0, 6-1 on court two, Emma Dvorackova suffered a 6-1, 6-1 defeat and Thes Ntondele Zinga clinched the match for Mississippi State with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court three over Natalia Koppova. Sofiia Mykhailets and Marina Lubsheva each won first sets in their matches before they were left unfinished.
Memphis falls to 2-9 and will be back in action March 7 when they travel to East Tennessee State. First serve is set for 1 p.m. in Johnson City, Tennessee.
