No. 13 Memphis Upends No. 7 Ole Miss on the Road
Feb 08, 2024 | Rifle
OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 13-ranked University of Memphis rifle team earned a hard-fought victory at No. 7 Ole Miss, 4703-4696, on Thursday in Oxford, Miss.
The Tigers (6-6, 2-4, GARC) won smallbore over the Rebels (6-5, 2-3 GARC), 2334-2321, which was enough to hold on after MSU took air rifle, 2375-2369.
"I'm really happy with how the team shot today," head coach Morgan Phillips remarked. "They have been working really hard and today really reflected it. We had multiple season highs and tied PR's, which is great to see at this point in the season. I think one of the best parts of the match was that it was a big group effort. Everyone contributed to today's score and that's what led us to winning the match. I think a lot of things are clicking into place for us and I'm excited to see what we can do in a couple days back at home!"
