No. 13 Memphis Takes Down No. T-9 Murray State on Senior Day

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 13-ranked University of Memphis rifle team earned back-to-back victories over top-10 ranked teams with a 4710-4697 win over No. T-9 Murray State on Saturday, Feb. 10 on Senior Day at the R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range.
The Tigers (7-6) won smallbore over the Racers (5-4), 2331-2330, and took air rifle with a score of 2379-2367.
"I'm really happy with today's win against Murray State," head coach Morgan Phillips said. "This was a really great week for us winning two matches against two top-10 teams. We also tied our season high today and that's the kind of momentum we need going into the qualifier a week from today. We'll keep working hard this week and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do at the qualifier!"

• Angeline Henry led the way for Memphis in the victory, taking second overall in the individual standings with an aggregate score of 1179.
• Henry won air rifle with a total of 596 and finished third in smallbore with a 583.
• Sophomore Gabriela Zych took third overall in the individual standings with an aggregate of 1179. Zych was second in air rifle with a total of 596 and fourth in smallbore with a total of 583.
• Freshman Kenlee Ewton was fifth overall with an aggregate of 1176 which included a second-place finish in smallbore with a score of 584.
• Jack Kersey took sixth in the individual standings with an aggregate of 1175, thanks in part to his fifth-place finish in air rifle (594).
• Sophia Cruz took eighth overall with an aggregate of 1161, while Maisyn Douglas was 10th with a total of 1155.
