BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Memphis Volleyball dropped 3-1 during a midweek match to UAB at the Bartow Arena.
  
The Tigers (11-14, 5-8 AAC) came up short against the Blazers (10-14, 5-8) and were led by Hannah Jones with 15 kills. Eleftheria Baxa followed behind with 11, and Clara Bednarek recorded 10.

The opening set started with back-and-forth action until the Blazers went on a 6-1 run to take the lead 19-13. UAB maintained its lead, pushing through to a 25-18 victory.

UAB continued their momentum into the second set, going up 9-4. The Tigers fought back with a 9-2 run to take the lead 13-11. Memphis extended the lead using a 5-1 run to go up 19-15. The Tigers won the last four out of five points en route to a 25-18 victory.

Memphis started the third set on a 5-1 run. The Blazers fought back with a run of their own to take the lead 14-10. The Tigers responded to take the lead once again late in the set. However, UAB came out on top 25-21.

The fourth set remained in a contested battle, neither team having more than a three-point advantage. It came down to the wire, unfortunately, the Blazers pulled ahead winning 27-25.

The Tigers will be traveling to San Antonio to play UTSA on Friday, Nov. 8, at 6 pm. The match will be available to stream on ESPN+.
