MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The 9-2 University of Memphis football team moved up a spot to No. 23 in the US LBM Coaches Poll Top 25 and received 46 votes in the AP Poll.
The Tigers received 151 points in the US LBM Coaches Poll to check in at No. 23, matching the highest ranking of the season for Memphis who was also No. 23 in the Sept. 15 rankings.
Memphis is one of three American Athletic Conference teams ranked in the Coaches Poll, joining No. 18 Tulane (9-2) and No. 22 Army (9-1).
In the AP Poll, the Tigers were left just outside of the Top 25 with their 46 votes received being good for No. 27. The Green Wave climbed to No. 18 while Army dropped to No. 25.
The Tigers have nine wins for the 11th time in program history with the potential to earn a 10th win still on the table. A 10-win season would mark the first time in program history with back-to-back double-digit win seasons. An 11-win season would be just the second in program history (2019; 12 wins).
The Tigers will head to New Orleans for a Thanksgiving night matchup on Nov. 28 at No. 18 Tulane (9-2, 7-0 AAC) to cap the regular season.
