57 Student-Athletes Earn Degrees at Spring Commencement, 24 with Honors

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – 57 University of Memphis student-athletes earned their degrees during the university's spring commencement ceremonies, highlighting another exceptional academic term for the athletic department. Among the spring graduates, 24 achieved the distinction of graduating with honors.
The 57 graduates represent 14 different sports programs, showcasing academic diversity with degrees earned in finance, health studies, sport and leisure management, computer science and professional studies, among others. Additionally, nine student-athletes earned graduate certificates, while four completed their master's degrees.
"On behalf of the entire athletic department, I want to extend our heartiest congratulations to this year's spring graduates," said Dr. Ed Scott, University of Memphis Senior Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. "Graduating our student-athletes is at the very core of our mission. We are incredibly proud of these young men and women who have thrived thanks to their own hard work and the dedicated support of our coaches and the Center for Athletic Academic Success. As they take their next steps, we wish them the absolute best and look forward to watching them make an impact beyond Memphis."
The spring cohort rounds out a stellar full academic year for the Tigers, which included 28 fall graduates and anticipates 12 summer graduates. Across the entire academic cycle, 30 out of 96 total graduates earned honors recognition. During the fall 2025 semester, Memphis recorded the highest departmental GPA in school history with a 3.559, marking the 25th consecutive semester the department has maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher after finishing the spring semester with a 3.53 GPA.
Additionally, in the NCAA's latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) release for the 2024-25 academic year, 10 programs received a perfect score: men and women's cross country, men and women's basketball, men and women's tennis, volleyball, women's soccer and rifle. Men and women's cross country, men and women's tennis, women's soccer and volleyball were top in the American Conference in multi-year scores. Memphis athletics finished the year with a score of 989.
