Tigers Jet West for Match Up Against San Francisco

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis Tiger men's basketball team is gearing up for its week-long road trip out west – making its first stop in California to take on the Dons of San Francisco on Thursday.

Memphis (3-0) is off to a hot start after a 94-70 win over Ohio last week gave the Tigers their third win of the season. In route to the win, the team set a new program record in three-point shooting, nailing 72.2 percent of its shots from long range (13-18).

PJ Haggerty had a big first half, pouring in 17 of his game-high 23 points, while Tyrese Hunter lit up FedExForum with 16 of his 21 points coming in the second half help Memphis cruise to the 24-point victory.

Thursday's game is set to tip-off at 9 p.m. CT from the Chase Center with coverage available on ESPNU.

PJ Haggerty (23), Tyrese Hunter (21) and Nicholas Jourdain (15) led the team in scoring while combining for 10 of the team's 13 three-point field goals made.
Memphis went on to finish the game shooting over 55 percent from the field while notching 5-of-6 three-pointers in the final 20 minutes of the game.

SERIES HISTORY VS. SAN FRANCISCO

The Tigers and Dons have met just twice in their histories with Memphis taking both wins.
The last win came back in 1994 when the Tigers claimed a 94-82 win in the Bluff City.
This will be the first time Memphis is playing in San Francisco.

SCOUTING THE SAN FRANCISCO DONS

San Francisco comes into Thursday's contest 4-0 after a dominating 82-37 win over Chicago State.
Tyrone Riley IV led the charge for the Dons with 28 points while nailing five of six shots from deep.
As a team, USF forced Chicago State into 24 turnovers while holding them to just 16% shooting from the field in the first half.
Riley IV leads the team with 19.5 points/game while Malik Thomas (15.8), Marcus Williams (13.5) and Ndewedo Newbury (10.0) are all averaging double figures.
