Tigers Host Ohio Friday Night

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's basketball team is back at FedExForum Friday night when it hosts Ohio. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. with coverage available on ESPN+ and 98.9 FM The Roar.

Memphis (2-0) is off to a hot start after taking wins over Missouri (83-75) and UNLV (80-74) in its opening week of play. Redshirt sophomore PJ Haggerty led the team with 27.0 points per game while shooting .500 from the field over the two games – earning him the first American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor.

Along with Haggerty leading the conference in scoring, Dain Dainja currently ranks second with 8.0 defensive rebounds per game and fourth with 9.5 rebounds per game.

Memphis opened the new season 2-0 after taking wins over Missouri and UNLV last week.
Redshirt sophomore guard PJ Haggerty led the charge for the Tigers after averaging 27.0 points/game while adding in 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists. His back-to-back performances earned him the first AAC Player of the Week award for the season.

Along with Haggerty, Colby Rogers and Tyrese Hunter added in 13.0 and 11.5 points, respectively, while Dain Dainja led the team with 19 rebounds over the two games.

SERIES HISTORY VS. OHIO

Memphis and Ohio have met just once in its history with the Tigers taking an 84-58 win over the Bobcats back in 2012.
Geron Johnson came off the bench for a game-high 21 points while Shaq Goodwin and Joe Jackson added in 20 and 10 points, respectively.
The Tigers turned the ball over just nine times in the game while scoring 48 of their 84 points in the paint.

SCOUTING THE OHIO BOBCATS

Ohio is coming off their second loss of the season after falling 85-75 to Illinois State on Tuesday night.
AJ Brown led the team with 20 points after draining four three-pointers.
The Bobcats have five players averaging double figures: AJ Clayton, Aiden Hadaway, Shereef Mitchell, AJ Brown and Jackson Paveletzke.
