Tigers Announce 2025 Baseball Schedule
Oct 25, 2024 | Baseball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis baseball team announced its 2025 schedule on Thursday for what will be the second season under head coach Matt Riser. The 55-game slate features 34 home games at FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field with the home opener scheduled for Feb. 14 at 4:05 p.m. against Southeast Missouri.
"We are excited about our 2025 schedule we have put together," Riser said. "We have 34 home games for our fans to come out and see us, which is rare. We have multiple regional final opponents from last year's NCAA tournament and a couple conference champions that will highlight the non-conference slate. It should have us prepared for a week in and week out dog fight in The American."
The Tigers open the season at home with a three-game series against Southeast Missouri at FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field, Feb. 14-16, before hosting Little Rock for the first mid-week game of the season. Memphis follows that up by welcoming Valparaiso for a three-game series (Feb. 21-23) before finishing the eight-game homestand with a mid-week matchup against Alabama A&M on Feb. 25.
After the first road series of the season at Louisiana Tech (Feb. 28-March 2), the Tigers will return to FedExPark for a mid-week game with Central Arkansas on March 4 before welcoming Southeastern Louisiana to Memphis for a weekend series (March 7-9). Memphis hosts Lindenwood later in the month (March 14-16) for one more non-conference series before opening conference play at perennial AAC power East Carolina (March 21-23) in Greenville, N.C.
The Tigers travel to Oxford, Miss., for a game with Ole Miss on March 25 and the Rebels return the favor with a trip to Memphis on April 8. Last season, the Tigers and Rebels split the season series, one game apiece. Memphis defeated Ole Miss, 9-4, at FedExPark in front of the fourth-largest crowd in FedExPark history (1,426; opened 2010). The win marked the first in Memphis for the Tigers over the Rebels since 2017, and the first win over Ole Miss on campus since 2001.
Memphis will also host SEC foe Mississippi State on April 1 at FedExPark Avron Fogelman Field and make a trip to Starkville to square off with the Bulldogs on April 29.
The first home conference series for the Tigers will be against Charlotte (March 28-30). Additional home conference series at FedExPark Avron Fogelman include South Florida (April 4-6), Rice (April 17-19), UAB (May 2-5) and Tulane (May 9-11).
Additional home non-conference games at FedExPark include Arkansas State (April 22) and Mississippi Valley State (May 6).
The Tigers wrap up conference and regular season action May 15-17 with a road series at Wichita State before the AAC Tournament, beginning May 20 in Clearwater, Florida.
