TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Memphis cross country team will travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to compete in the Crimson Classic on Friday morning.
Hosted by the University of Alabama at Harry Pritchett Running Park, the competition features 26 schools including five from the state of Tennessee. The men will begin the event with an 8K at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 6K at 9:20 on the women's side.
"We are trying to gain some momentum with championship season right around the corner," said head coach Kevin Robinson. "The hope is that we can buckle down and really compete hard this week."
This race marks the last of the regular season before the AAC Tournament championship on Nov. 2. Last time out at the Rhodes Invitational, two Tigers – Vincent Chenier and Jalyssa Smith – logged second-place finishes. Ann-Marie Braese, Robert Randall and Reezon Eke also recorded top-10 results.
