Bordoy Scores Lone Goal in Tigers Victory at Belmont

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Memphis men's soccer earned a 1-0 victory in a nonconference match against Belmont. Memphis now owns an 18-1-1 series record against the Bruins.
With the win, the Tigers improves to 5-4-1 overall while Belmont drops to 2-5-3.
Memphis was able to score from an Anders Bordoy free kick late in the first half. The Tigers proceeded to half multiple chances from Belmont during the second half to secure the win.

KEY MOMENTS
- 39' – Late into a mostly quiet first half, Gabriel Christensen drew a foul resulting in a free kick which Anders Bordoy slotted into the bottom left corner to give Memphis a lead late in the half.
- 65' – The best chance for the Bruins came from a long throw in that was then headed towards the net but stopped by Filip Sabatti.
- 75' – Belmont continued to bombard the Memphis defense with attacks, as another header deep in the box was swept aside by Sabatti.
- Memphis outpaced Belmont in the first half, recording six shots compared to Belmont's one shot.
- Belmont went on to record eight shots in the second half, outpacing Memphis by two despite the Tigers playing defensively in the second frame.
- Bordoy recorded his first career goal, giving him two goal contributions on the season after recording an assist against Georgia State.
- Sabatti recorded three saves in his second clean sheet in a row. He moves to 5-2-1 in goal.
- Five yellow cards were given out during the match. Logan Longo received a card in the 82nd minute and the Memphis bench was given a card in the 89th minute.
- For Belmont, AJ Chastonay, Dylan Steely and Riley Clothier were assessed cards.
