No. 19 Tigers Fall to UAB in Road AAC Matchup

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 19 University of Memphis men's basketball team fell to UAB, 97-88, in an American Athletic Conference road game Sunday evening inside Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Tigers (15-5, 4-3 AAC) were plagued by a season-high 22 turnovers as they suffered a third-straight loss. Memphis shot 31-for-64 (48.4%) overall including 10-of-23 (43.5%) from three-point range.
Fifth-year big man Malcolm Dandridge had a career-high 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting, adding four steals and three rebounds. David Jones put up 24 points, nine rebounds and seven steals for the Tigers but it would not be enough from the nation's fifth-leading scorer.
The Blazers (13-7, 5-2 AAC) were led by Yaxel Lendborg's 23 points and Eric Gaines (20 points) as UAB won for the ninth time in its last 11 games.
