No. 13 Tigers Light up Scoreboard in Record-Setting Win Over Shockers

WICHITA, Kan. – The 13th-ranked University of Memphis men's basketball team shot lights out en route to a 112-86 road win over Wichita State behind a program-record 19 three-pointers Sunday afternoon at Charles Koch Arena.
The Tigers (15-2, 4-0 AAC) improved its winning streak to 10 games, giving the program its best start to a season since 2007-08, when they began 17-0.
After a first half shoot out, the Tigers held a 49-46 lead over the Shockers (8-8, 0-3 AAC) at the break thanks to 60.6-percent shooting from the field, including going 7-for-12 (58.3%) from beyond the arc.
Memphis improved on that mark with a 63-point second half, catching fire and cashing 12-of-18 shots from three-point range (66.7%) and shooting 68.6-percent overall.
The Tigers' 100-point scoring output was their second in a row after a 107-101 overtime win over UTSA at FedExForum on Jan. 10. The back-to-back 100-point games for Memphis marks the first time doing so since 1986 (Dec. 22; 101 vs. San Diego State; Dec. 27; 108 vs. Alcorn State). The 112 points scored by the Tigers marked the first time the Shockers allowed 100-plus points at home since 1972.
For the game, Memphis shot 19-of-30 (63.3%) from three-point range and 64.7-percent (44-for-68) overall – the fourth-highest clip in program history and the best since Dec. 14, 1986 vs. Georgia (32-for-49).
Fifth-year guard Jahvon Quinerly had a career day in leading the Tigers, scoring 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting, matching a career high with 11 assists, picking four steals and pulling down three rebounds.
Senior forward David Jones had a huge second half, scoring 17 of his 19 points in the final 20 minutes.
Senior guard and former Shocker Jaykwon Walton had a big day, knocking down a game-high six triples and matching Quinerly's 23 points. Walton added three assists, three rebounds and a pair of steals and assists.

- Nae'Qwan Tomlin totaled double figures (14) for the third time in six games as a Tiger. He finished 6-of-9 shooting and 2-of-3 from distance.
- Nicholas Jourdain reached double figures for the third time in five games with 12 points to go along with three assists. He shot 5-of-6 from the floor and 2-of-3 from deep.
- Malcolm Dandridge flirted with a double-double behind 10 points and seven boards.
- He also added three assists and two blocks in 24 minutes.
- Memphis set season highs in points (112), field goals made (44), field goal percentage (64.7), three-pointers made (19), three-point percentage (63.3) and assists (25).
- Five Tigers recorded three or more dimes in the win.
