MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger women's soccer team continued their season opening home stand tonight when they welcomed the Ole Miss Rebels to town. A first-half strike would prove the difference as Memphis took the 1-0 win.

Following tonight's match, Memphis moves to 2-0 overall.

KEY MOMENTS

Memphis would get early chances from Izzy Monck and Saorla Miller that challenged Ole Miss goalkeeper, Shu Ohba.
In the 23', Anna Hauer would get subbed in and 20 seconds later, she would place a ball through the defense deep in the box to Miller who found the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
The Tiger defense would prove steady after Ole Miss saw their best opportunity of the night in the 31' when Kate Smith sent a shot from inside the goal area but was denied by Grace Stordy.
Kaylie Bierman would make three crucial saves in the second half to keep the Tigers ahead – and eventually claim the 1-0 win.

NOTABLES

This is the second consecutive shutout for Bierman this season after she made four saves tonight.
Memphis and Ole Miss took the draw in corner kicks (6) and saves (6) while the Tigers put seven shots on goal.
This is the first win over the Rebels at the Track & Soccer Complex since 2019.
